- It is anticipated that Samsung’s upcoming foldable series would include larger displays.
- This also applies to the primary display and the cover.
- It’s possible that the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover display measures 3.6 inches.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 were released by Samsung in August of this year. The typical minor improvements are included with the foldables, while the Flip now has a larger cover display, measuring 3.4 inches as opposed to 1.9 inches. Samsung’s update was much-needed, and a tipster suggests that we might see an even bigger screen the following year.
Samsung 2024 foldables will have bigger screens
More screen real estate will be found on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, according to tipster Ross Young, co-founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). This applies to both the interior main display and the cover display.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 cover display may have a 3.6-inch screen, the tipster continues. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 sports a 3.4-inch cover display, for comparison. About the cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, no specifics are available.
For the Galaxy Z Flip 6, a larger cover display makes sense because it would enable more features without requiring the user to open the phone. Rival companies such as Motorola and OPPO are anticipated to improve with the upcoming foldables, since they now provide incredibly helpful cover screens on their Flip phones. However, given Samsung’s sluggish pace of foldable lineup revisions, it will be interesting to watch if they follow through.
There are also rumors that the camera on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be upgraded. According to reports, Samsung has begun testing prototype Galaxy Z Flip 6 versions featuring a 50MP primary camera. The 12MP camera on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 would be greatly improved by this.
Samsung may release more affordable foldables the following year. A lighter variant of the Flip or Fold called the “Galaxy Z FE” is being developed. The specifications and features will be less advanced than those of the flagship range because it will be a FE model. But for the time being, this is all conjecture, as further information regarding a potential FE foldable is still pending.
