Samsung is reportedly gearing up to unveil a tri-fold smartphone as early as next year, according to recent industry reports. This innovative device is expected to feature a screen that folds twice, expanding into a larger display.
Samsung to release trifold smartphone in 2025
A report from ZDNet Korea indicates that Samsung Electronics is exploring the release of a tri-fold smartphone capable of folding its screen twice. Furthermore, the report suggests that this new device may be launched in 2025.
In addition to the tri-fold model, Samsung is also said to be developing an entry-level clamshell foldable smartphone, which could debut alongside the tri-fold device next year. These upcoming smartphones are set to follow in the footsteps of Samsung’s recent Galaxy Z Flip and Fold models but aim to offer a more ambitious design.
The report highlights that Samsung’s display division has already completed the development of components for the tri-fold model, indicating that the device is ready for market release. However, the final decision regarding the product launch will depend on the Samsung Electronics MX division, led by TM Roh.
