Earlier this month, CAD-based renders of the Google Pixel 9a surfaced online. Now, new details regarding the camera specifications of the device have been revealed. According to a recent report, the Pixel 9a will sport a different camera setup compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a.
Google Pixel 9a camera details
According to a new report from Android Headlines, the Pixel 9a will be equipped with a 48MP primary camera. This is believed to be the same sensor found in the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. For reference, the 48MP camera on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold features an f/1.7 aperture, a 25mm lens, a 1/2.0″ sensor size, 0.8µm pixel size, dual-pixel PDAF, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
In contrast, the previous generation Pixel 8a featured a 64MP primary camera. However, the secondary and front cameras on the Pixel 9a are expected to remain the same as those on the Pixel 8a, with a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 13MP selfie camera.
Additionally, the report highlights that the Pixel 9a will include the “Add Me” feature, first introduced in the Pixel 9 series in August. This AI-powered feature allows users to add themselves to group photos without needing assistance from others.
