As we all know Samsung is going to unveil its flagship S25 lineup of smartphones on January 22nd via the Galaxy Unpacked event. Soon after that, we might get to see the launch of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and S25 Slim. The S25 Slim device is reportedly going to be exclusive to South Korea. But now a new report claims that it won’t be using a full full-fledged version of Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Samsung planning to use a “less-powerful” version of Snapdragon 8 Elite on Z Fold 7 and S25 Slim
Qualcomm recently announced a new variant of its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This variant has 7 cores instead of the 8 found in the original version. Rest all of the specifications remain the same. This is reportedly done to power up the foldable and future ultra-slim devices.Concerning the performance, it would be slightly less powerful than the original version. But one good thing is that the brands will get this for cheaper prices when compared with the full-fledged version of Snapdragon 8 Elite. So alongside upcoming foldable and ultra-slim devices, we can expect this processor to be featured on some value flagships as well.
Anyway, so there are high chance that Samsung will be using this chipset in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and S25 Slim devices. A new device is also speculated to launch this year, which is none other than the Z Fold 7 SE and it would be safe to say that we can expect the same chipset in this model as well.
