In November last year, Disney announced its merger with Reliance and Viacom18. However, after the announcement, we did not get to see any information about the new upcoming platform. But after a long time, the firm has started teasing the merger of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar.
JioHotstar launch teased; the platform can go live anytime soon
Disney Star has shared a teaser clip on its official X (formerly Twitter) page. The teaser says “A new era begins”. The company later added a star emoji along with a caption that reads “What happens when two worlds of entertainment merge in the universe”. This could be a strong hint towards the upcoming platform.
Also, the name of the upcoming platform is going to be “JioHotstar” and not “JioStar” as rumoured previously. Some users on various other social media have reported that JioCiema is cancelling autopay mandates of its users. This could probably be because the brand now does not want any additional consumers and wants the existing ones to switch to the new JioHotstar platform.
We can expect various content like TATA WPL (Women’s Premier League) and the whole Star Sports Network along with exclusive series and movies to be streamed on the platform.
