Amazon to shut down its App Store on Android: Coins are also unavailable now

Microsoft had officially ended the support of Windows Subsystem for Android last year. As a result of which, Amazon later announced the closure of its Windows App Store. This movie raised queries related to the operation of the App Store on Android devices. However, the brand assured that it will remain functional as usual. But now, Amazon has suddenly announced the closure of the App Store for Android devices.

Amazon App Store won’t work for Android devices now

Amazon has now officially announced the shutdown of the Amazon App Store for Android devices. Starting August 20th, 2025 the app will render useless as it won’t work anymore. The users will no longer have access to it.

Amazon has updated the related FAQ page and has quoted that “Starting August 20, 2025, you will no longer have access to the Amazon App Store on your Android devices.”

Alongside the closure of its app store, the company has also announced the shut down of its ‘coins program’. Under which, the users were able to purchase apps, games and other in-game items. Users can use their existing balance before August 20. Developers have also started getting notices related to it. Developers who want to roll out update to their services can do so before August 20 only.
