Vodafone Idea (Vi) has been a little late to the 5G race in India. While the other two giants—Jio and Airtel—are already up with their 5G services throughout the country, the Vi is just stepping in. It has now officially announced the start of 5G network services and plans in the financial capital of India, Mumbai.
Vi launches 5G services in Mumbai
The dedicated web-page and unlimited 5G data plans have been announced by Vi India. Without making any noise, the firm has silently updated its plan by adding an Unlimited 5G network for Mumbai Circle.
This came after the telecom operator’s website went under maintenance for a long duration without any prior notice. The new Unlimited 5G data feature is available for all prepaid plans starting at Rs 299 and above. The Unlimited Data will work only in 5G enabled areas, which is limited to Mumbai as of right now.
Basically, if you are in Mumbai and recharges your Vi prepaid SIM with Rs 299 and above plan then you’ll automatically get access to 5G unlimited data. This is quite a different system as compared to Jio and Airtel, wherein only plans with 2GB/day quota gets access to unlimited 5G data.
