iPhone 17 series display details
According to a report from ET News, which cites an industry source, the upcoming iPhone 17 models, set for release next year, will be equipped with LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) displays, capable of supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. This LTPO technology is expected to be used across all four iPhone 17 variants, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the rumored iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air. Samsung and LG, Apple’s primary suppliers for high-end display panels, will be providing these LTPO screens.
The LTPO technology, branded by Apple as ProMotion, made its debut on the iPhone 13 Pro series in 2021. This technology enables variable refresh rates, adjusting the screen’s refresh rate depending on activity to enhance power efficiency. Currently, LTPO technology is exclusive to the Pro series models.
