Apple will soon commence its Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) 2025 which will be held from June 9th to June 13th this year. At the event, the company will announce the iOS 19 operating system that will bring several AI features and improvements. Unfortunately, the reports and rumours claiming that older iPhone models like iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max will not support iOS 19 update anymore. But they will receive the security patches. The upcoming iOS 19 may not support to older iPhone models
According to an anonymous account on X (formerly Twitter) that regularly shares accurate information and details about Apple’s software (via 9to5mac), Apple will soon cut the iOS 19 support for older iPhone models. The models are iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max which were launched in September 2018. If the information is true, Apple will not provide iOS 19 OS to the older iPhone models.
However, the company will provide the security patch updates to the older iPhone models as they already did by releasing iOS 16.7.11 for the iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone X. But the company discontinued support for these models with the release of iOS 18 last year. However, the report by the private account also leaked the details about iOS 18 compatibility last year.
