- A punch-hole display may be included with the iPhone 16 Pro.
- For Apple, this would be a significant step, particularly considering how long it resisted the punch-hole cutout.
- It’s not the final design yet; it’s just in testing.
In spite of Android phones switching to punch-hole displays, Apple stuck with the notch. The “Dynamic Island” display was then unveiled, providing users with an intuitive experience along with additional screen space. It appears that Dynamic Island will be the default display for iPhones from now on, but Apple may have different ideas for the iPhone 16 Pro in 2019.
Punch-hole display on the iPhone 16 Pro
According to reports, Apple is thinking of using a punch-hole display for the iPhone 16 Pro model. According to tipster Maijin Bu on X, claims that it is presently testing an iPhone 16 Pro hole punch version. The insider cautions that this is merely a test and might not be taken into consideration for the final design of the upcoming iPhone series. The source also says that there will be more clarity in March of next year, when we’ll receive additional information.
Given that the Dynamic Island display is exclusive to the iPhone 15 series and the iPhone 14 Pro models, a punch-hole display would appear improbable. especially considering how much effort was invested into personalizing the Dynamic Island. It’s a simple pill-shaped cutout that shows activity, notifications, and more.
The tipster goes on to say that this is just a prototype for now and that the iPhone 17 series may be the first to release with a punch-hole display.
There are also rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will have larger displays than the iPhone 15 Pro models. Although there is still plenty of time for some close confirmation, there have been some leaks regarding the upcoming iPhone models. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max are anticipated to be the four versions in Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup.
