Apple’s first foldable iPhone key details and other components revealed
According to a report by South Korean publications, ETNews claimed that Apple is finalizing the components for the foldable iPhone and the selection process will begin shortly and complete by April 2025. Once the component suppliers are finalised, we can expect the launch date and other specs. Apart from that, the publication has claimed that Apple’s first foldable smartphone will come with a smooth crease-free display, and the brand has developed a new material component to achieve this.
If Apple will come up with a crease-free display for their foldable iPhone model then it would be a massive upgrade in the market. As of now, no brands have released a foldable smartphone in the market with a complete crease-free display. Plus, the report suggests that Samsung Display has been working on a custom display for Apple since last year and it’s expected to be an exclusive supplier of OLED panels for Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
On the other end, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to have an inward folding design just like other foldable smartphones in the market. Coming to the specs as per leaks, the foldable iPhone is expected to have a 5.49-inch cover display and a 7.74-inch inner display. However, the aspect ratios of the inner and cover displays are marked as “unprecedented.” However, Apple’s foldable iPhone is expected to launch in the second half of 2026.
