ChatGPT Voice feature is now available for free users

The eagerly awaited voice function of ChatGPT is now available to free users thanks to OpenAI, an AI research organization. Recall that when the function was first released in September, it was exclusively available to members who had paid for access. This allows all users, even the free ones, to ask questions of ChatGPT using their voice, get answers, and have ongoing conversations.

ChatGPT’s voice features Details

  • OpenAI stated that ChatGPT with voice is now available to all free users in a post on X (previously Twitter).
  • By touching the headphones symbol, users can start a discussion after downloading the program to their phones.
  • You can have back-and-forth conversations with ChatGPT thanks to the new voice feature.
  • The user initiates the conversation by posing a question, and it can be terminated manually or by ceasing speech.
  • In response to the query, ChatGPT allows for interruptions to ensure an ongoing dialogue.

On the other hand, the sudden departure of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and the ongoing talks for his return have presented difficulties for the team.

The presentation humorously alludes to the drama that is developing in OpenAI’s post on X. In one instance, a user asks ChatGPT about placing a pizza order for a group of people that is comparable in size to the employees of OpenAI, many of whom have lately thought about resigning unless the entire board steps down.

Altman was fired by the OpenAI board last week due to issues with his regular board communications. Since then, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has invited Altman and his group to start a new division at Microsoft; nevertheless, Altman is thinking about going back to OpenAI.

After Altman was fired, former OpenAI president Greg Brockman announced OpenAI’s X announcement, emphasizing how experimenting with the new feature drastically changes the ChatGPT experience.
