China launches 5G broadband technology in partnership with Huawei

China has announced the rollout of 5G broadband technology in its Xiong’an city, which is located in Hebei province’s Sunan county. This tech is a result of a joint collaboration between China Telecom and Huawei.

China’s 10G broadband network leverages 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) technology. It is the next generation of FTTx (Fibre to the X) technology, capable of offering download speeds of over 50 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Gbps.

The network promises to provide download speeds of 9834Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1008Mbps. The network also seeks to provide consumers with a three-millisecond latency. This network technology provides China with a significant advantage. It puts the country ahead of other countries such as the UAE and Singapore, which are known for having the fastest commercial broadband speeds in the world.
