Google will soon launch its Google Pixel 8a and rumors suggest it will announce it in Google I/O 2024 which is on May 14th. Now Google Pixel 8a availability, specifications are leaked.
Google Pixel 8a availability
Google may finally address the issue of wider availability with Google Pixel 8a. Pixel 7a was only available in 21 Countries while Apple sells its devices over 140 Countries.
According to a report by Android Authority, Google Pixel 8a included electronic warranty labels for the following regions: Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Romania.
Report also notes that similar listings were found for the Google Pixel 8 series before launch and it eventually happened so this a pretty solid indication for potential market expansion.
Google Pixel 8a Specifications
Google Pixel 8a will be powered by Google Tensor G3 SoC, Mali G715 GPU, reports also suggest Google might use a different version of G3 than Pixel 8 series.
If the silicon die inside the chip will be identical, the plastic package could be different. The regular G3 uses FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging), and the Google Pixel 8a’s G3 could use IPoP (Integrated Package on Package).
Google Pixel 8a Tensor G3 also comes with Samsung Modem 5400, support for AV1 encoding, and upgraded TPU, new DSP for image processing.
Google Pixel 8a will come with a OLED display coupled with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, 1400 nits peak brightness. Display panel is sourced from two manufacturers BOE and Samsung. Company might also introduce the DisplayPort feature on the Google Pixel 8a, similar to Pixel 8 series.
In the camera section Google Pixel 8a has 64MP Sony IMX787, 13MP Ultra-wide-angle sensor which is the same as Pixel 7a and 13MP Sony IMX712 Front camera.
