Google has set certain minimum system requirements for its Android operating system. This is done to ensure that the OS runs fine in day to day usage with no major issues (especially those related with the storage or RAM). However, Google has now reportedly raised the system requirements of Android 15 OS.

Google raises RAM and storage requirements to run Android

As per a report by Android Authority, Google has updated its minimum storage and RAM requirements policy for Android. Per the source, Google now mandates devices running the latest Android 15 to have at least 32GB of storage space.

That’s not all, upto 75 percent of the 32GB of storage stage is also mandated to be used for data partition. For reference, Data Partition is an area within your soft drive where system files and app data are stored.

Further, Google has now made it compulsory that low-end devices, with 2GB or 3GB of RAM must run the Android Go Edition operating system. The firm has also mandated that the devices running Android 15 must offer the users an option to share their emergency contacts’ data with Android’s Emergency Location Services.
