Indian government wants Apple, Google and other OEMs to pre-install their apps
Known publication Bloomberg, in its latest report, claims that the government of India has asked Apple, Google and other smartphone manufacturers to preinstall government-backed applications on the device before they start shipping them to buyers in the country.
The government has also asked the tech giants to allow the downloading of state-backed apps on smartphones without displaying warnings about untrusted sources. Apart from this, there’s no information on the demand made by the Indian Government.
However, Apple and Google have shown resistance to the demand as they don’t want any other third-party sources or apps on their devices. However, the government is reportedly planning to explore using legal mandates to make sure that these companies comply with its request.
