Instagram adds Teen Accounts feature in India: what’s new?
The Teen Accounts are made for kids, especially those below the age of 16. Teen accounts are by default set to private. This means that the account holder will have to manually approve follower requests and non-followers won’t be able to interact with the account.
Instagram also says that the Teen Accounts are set to the most restrictive content settings and no sensitive content would be available for these accounts. The app will have a built-in reminder that will prompt the user to exit the app after 60 minutes of its daily use. The sleep mode will be enabled by default from 10 PM to 7 AM.
Parents will be able to supervise and change the settings of the accounts. The kid won’t be able to use Instagram once they reach the limit set by the parents. Parents can also restrict Instagram anytime they want.
