Apple will launch its next iPhone flagship iPhone 15 series in Next month around September 12th – 13th. Apple is yet to set up the manufacturing plant for iPhones, But currently Apple assembles the iPhones in India. Now reports suggest Apple has started the assembling of iPhone 15 in India.
Apple assembles iPhone in India through its manufacturing partners Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron all these assembling plants are located in South India. Report by Bloomberg, Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu has started the assembling of iPhone 15 models.
Rest of two Wistron, Pegatron will also soon start the assembling of new upcoming iPhone 15. Recent reports suggest Tata group will overtake the India operation of Wistron and become India’s First company to manufacture the iPhones in India. But currently there’s no official announcement about it.
With This process, Apple aims to reduce the dependency from China for its iPhone shipment. iPhone 15 which is assembled in India will be ready to ship weeks after the China unit arrives. This early action will make a major difference. Those iPhones are assembled in India; they are usually ready months after the China units arrive.
In India iPhone’s have huge popularity but Apple’s market share is still fairly low but it is slowly increasing with last reported number 5.1 percent according to Counterpoint Research.
Apple is working on pushing iPhone Production in India, and so far they assembled a $7 billion worth unit in the last Financial year, according to Bloomberg reports. Now around 7 percent iPhones are produced in India.
iPhone 15 series
The upcoming iPhone 15 series will be available in four variants iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max. These all models will come with USB Type – C and iPhone 15 Pro model possibly will come with titanium frame and smaller bezels.
