With capacity for optical zoom up to 5 times, the top-of-the-line model had a novel Tetraprism zoom lens design. Since the tetraprism telephoto lens was much larger and would not fit on the smaller model, the smaller 15 Pro did not receive the same lens.
According to earlier claims from Ming-Chi Kuo and The Elec, Apple plans to ship the sophisticated telephoto lens with the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max next year. Apple iPhone 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max will come with a Tetraprism Telephoto Lens
As previously reported, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but not the smaller 15 Pro, has a sophisticated tetraprism telephoto lens. Since the tetraprism telephoto lens is too large for the 6.1-inch frame of the smaller Pro variation, it is only available on the Pro Max model. That being said, the most recent rumor is that the tetraprism telephoto lens will be available for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models in 2019. For individuals who desire all the Pro features without requiring the majority of the Pro Max model, this is wonderful news.
According to a report by MacRumors Apple intends to make the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max larger overall. The iPhone 16 Pro will now measure 6.3 inches instead of 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will measure 6.9 inches instead of 6.7 inches, according to the report. Apple will be able to incorporate the new tetraprism telephoto camera into the 16 Pro model thanks to this size increase.
MacRumors claimed they have seen internal Apple documentation that supports this. The 16 Pro’s camera module design appears to be comparable to that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, based on the docs. According to MacRumors, a quick peek at the internal docs will reveal the tetraprism components on the iPhone 16 Pro. The publication does, however, carry a disclaimer stating that this information is pre-production and should be regarded with caution.
