  • The iPhone 16 series will be released by Apple in the fall of 2024.

iPhone 16

Apple included an outdated A16 chip in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models, this year but the flagship iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models came with a brand-new A17 Pro chip. According to recent early reports, the A18 processor will be used in all iPhone 16 models by the tech giant with headquarters in Cupertino. There have apparently been allusions to four new iPhone models utilizing the A18 chip in early development versions of the iOS 18 operating system.

According to a report by MacRumors new iPhone models are mentioned in early development builds of the iOS 18 operating system. These models are supposedly internally referenced as D47, D48, D93, and D94, respectively. These models are thought to be the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

iPhone 16 Models Will Come With A18 Bionic Chipset

According to reports, Apple will include a new SoC, the t8140 Tahiti, in the entire iPhone 16 range, based on codes from iOS 18. There are rumors that this codename is connected to the A18 chip. This supports previous rumors.

Different chipsets are used in Apple’s latest iPhone 15 series and iPhone 14 series for the non-Pro and Pro variants. The company’s 2023 and 2022 lower-end iPhone models were powered by previous generation SoCs. The A17 Pro chip, which has an extra GPU core and a faster clock speed, powers the iPhone 15 Pro models, whereas the older A16 Bionic chip from the iPhone 14 Pro powers the iPhone 15.

According to the report, the A18 processor used in 2024 by all four iPhone 16 models won’t be the same. A18 and A18 Pro branding is reportedly used by Apple to distinguish between the semiconductors used in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro versions. It has been alleged that the operating system makes reference to Broadcom Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules in addition to the A18 chip.

A dedicated button for recording videos is anticipated to be included in the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series. The “Capture Button” is the anticipated name for this enigmatic button. Now available only on the iPhone 15 Pro models, the new Action Button would be available on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models, the Pro versions are rumored to have larger displays.
