The iPhone 17 Air has once again surfaced in a new leak, this time in the form of a hands-on look at a dummy unit, offering a potential preview of its final design.
iPhone 17 Air dummy units
The leak arrives via Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy, who showcased several dummy units supposedly based on official schematics shared with accessory makers.
These dummy models are typically crafted based on CAD files or design specifications sent by OEMs to third-party case manufacturers, enabling them to build accessories well ahead of launch.
As seen in the video, the iPhone 17 Air sports a significantly thinner and lighter profile, especially when compared side-by-side with the larger iPhone 17 Pro Max. The dummy unit suggests that the iPhone 17 Air may measure just 5.65mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest iPhones ever made.
To achieve this ultra-slim design, Apple is believed to have opted for a titanium and aluminum chassis, sacrificing a more complex camera system. Instead, the iPhone 17 Air will likely include just a single rear camera, according to the leak.
