We might get to see a new iPhone model starting from the 17 series. It will be known as iPhone “X” Air and the first device under this moniker is going to be the iPhone 17 Air. As the name implies, this device will target to achieve a slim, lightweight and compact design. But it’s going to be even more slimmer than we can expect.
iPhone 17 Air will be as slim as 5.5mm, says famous Apple analyst
Known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo reports that iPhone 17 Air is under development. He says that the new “ultra-thin iPhone” will measure the thickness of just 5.5mm. The design is so thin that Apple had to remove the physical SIM card slot from the device. As a result of this., it will only support eSIM.
Early report claims that the iPhone 17 Air will measure 6.25mm in thickness, but Ming’s report says something else. For reference, the iPhone 6, launched in 2014, measures 6.9mm and the 17 Air is said to be even more thinner than it. This is just mind-boggling. It would be interesting to see how Apple manages to insert hardware components in the device.
