Meta has introduced its first independent AI assistant, Meta AI. The free app is now available for download on both Android and iOS devices through their respective app stores. This marks a significant step in Meta’s AI development, as it’s their first dedicated AI application separate from existing platforms like WhatsApp or Instagram.

What’s the benefit of the new Meta standalone AI app

The Meta AI app offers several useful features, including answering questions, generating images, and having natural conversations. Users can log in using their existing Facebook or Instagram accounts, which helps the AI provide more personalised responses. One of the most interesting aspects is its compatibility with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, allowing for hands-free voice commands and interactions.

Unlike some other AI services, Meta AI is completely free with no premium tiers or subscription requirements. The app includes a discovery section for browsing AI-generated content and keeps a history of all your interactions. While voice response capabilities are currently limited to certain regions, the app continues to evolve with regular updates.

The officials say that this is a step toward Meta’s commitment to making AI technology more accessible to everyday users. The simple interface and practical features make it easy for anyone to start using it immediately. As the technology develops, users can expect more advanced capabilities and wider availability of features like voice responses. For now, it provides a free and user-friendly way to experience AI assistance.
