At MWC 2025, Samsung introduced its latest innovation—the Flex Gaming concept, a handheld gaming console featuring a 7.2-inch foldable OLED display (via CNET). Designed for portability, this device aims to redefine handheld gaming by offering a compact, travel-friendly alternative to traditional consoles.
Samsung’s Foldable Handheld Gaming Console
Most handheld gaming consoles tend to have a bulky design, making them inconvenient to carry. Samsung’s Flex Gaming concept addresses this issue with a hinged, foldable display, allowing the device to fold much like a Galaxy Z Flip smartphone for enhanced portability.
The console is equipped with joysticks and D-pads on both sides of the display, with a unique cavity design that accommodates the joysticks when the device is folded. It also features a home button, a button marked with an ‘N’, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The prototype, showcased in a lime-green/yellow color, gives the device a bold, futuristic aesthetic.
While Samsung has yet to disclose key specifications such as resolution, refresh rate, or brightness, the foldable display is expected to be similar to the ones used in the company’s foldable smartphones.
