  • Here are the updates to WhatsApp’s user interface.

For its Android app, WhatsApp has been working on a new user interface. The updated UI is currently being rolled out to a small group of beta testers. The WhatsApp UI has been updated with new icons, and the background color has also changed. WhatsApp now has a simpler, more minimalistic design.

Android’s new WhatsApp user interface

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.21.12 includes the new interface. Select beta testers have already begun receiving WhatsApp, but more people should be able to access it in the upcoming weeks. If you’re a member of WhatsApp’s beta program, you can upgrade the app and see if you’ve received the newest version. Users of WhatsApp Business beta can access the new UI as well.

You’ll notice that WhatsApp has eliminated the top green ad in the new user interface. The dark and light themes share a single constant color. The app backdrop color is thus pure white in the light theme and black with a dark gray border in the dark theme. This is comparable to the iOS version of WhatsApp.

Only WhatsApp, and even that has a different font, can be seen with the white background. The icons also use a slightly different shade of the distinctive green color. Compared to the present prominent green in the app, it is a paler tint. Additionally, the floating action and chat bubble color have been updated for the dark theme.

The positioning of the icons hasn’t changed much, but WhatsApp now has a much smoother appearance overall. When WhatsApp will make the new interface available to all users is unknown. However, given that WhatsApp is already making it available to beta testers, it shouldn’t take long for the rest of the public to have access to it as well.
