Nothing appears to be gearing up for its first major product launch of 2025. The company has recently shared a teaser image hinting at an upcoming device.

Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus Teaser

Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, is widely known for being a Pokémon enthusiast, and the company has embraced this passion by using Pokémon names as internal code names for its devices.

Interestingly, the Pokédex entry of the corresponding Pokémon aligns with the model number of the Nothing device. For instance, the Nothing Phone (2a), which carries the model number A142, is internally codenamed “Aerodactyl,” the 142nd entry in the Pokédex.

In its latest teaser, Nothing shared an image of the Pokémon Arcanine on its X (formerly Twitter) account. While the brand refrained from revealing specific product details, Arcanine’s Pokédex number, 059, corresponds to the internal codename of a new device.

In the past, a Nothing phone bearing the model number A059 recently appeared on Geekbench, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. Earlier leaks suggest that the Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Plus are set to launch soon, both equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. With these clues coming together, it seems increasingly likely that Nothing’s next big release will include the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus.
