Smartphone brands are now focusing on integrating the AI feature with their smartphone which offers an ease to their users. Now Nothing is also entered in the race, Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei officially confirmed i.e Nothing is working to deeply integrate the AI feature in their OS.
Users can experience the new AI features from next year i.e 2025 on Nothing Phone (3). This announcement confirms, Nothing is taking a break of a year to launch its next flagship to recall Nothing Phone (2) launched back in July last year and the Phone (3) will launch next year with AI integrated features.

According to Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei, Nothing Phone (3) will launch next year i.e in 2025.

There’s been a lot of hype around AI. Some great, some confusing. It’s great to see new companies rethinking the user experience and form factors. However, there is no doubt that smartphones will remain the main consumer AI form factor for the foreseeable future. With over 4 billion users and over 1 billion smartphones shipped every year—the numbers speak for themselves. The way we use our smartphones needs to be redefined. The current user experience hasn’t evolved for more than a decade! The next era needs a highly personalized, dynamic, and cross-device interface. One that also creates a human connection that makes tech feel more at ease to interact with.
Carl talked about current user experience & Phone (3) upcoming AI features.
For the last two months, we’ve been designing and prototyping AI interactions. Today, I want to show you some initial concepts to give you a better idea of what I’m talking about. Expect this to be improved and gradually introduced, starting with Phone (3) next year. It’s important we get the product right, integrating hardware and AI in a way that is both useful and brings a smile to people’s faces.
Carl said that Nothing has worked till now.
Over the last 3.5 years, we’ve been busy establishing our end to end capabilities. We’ve come a long way, being the only company that built a smartphone business in the last 10 years. We’ve also developed a creative culture in the company that emphasizes great UX and thoughtful integration between software and hardware. And as we reach stability and with solid growth plans, we’re ready to shift gears.
Nothing’s Software engineer Walid showcased some prototype features on which the company has been working for last two months. According to Walid, the Nothing’s software team is exploring deeply integrating AI into Nothing OS which will offer a highly personalized experience to every single user.
For instance here we tried to reimage the home screen. We wanted to move away from just being a launcher for different apps and services into becoming more of a hub of contextual relevant information. For instance, the system was able to find this QR code ahead of my check-in tomorrow so that I get a really smooth experience.
It also pulled out the relevant content I might be interested in looking at. We were exploring providing every single Persian with a highly personalized companion that feels almost like a best friend.
Currently, these features are prototype so it will be slightly different when it is available for commercial use.
