The Redmi K70 series, launched last year, is set to receive a successor as Redmi prepares to unveil the K80 lineup in China next week. Ahead of the official launch, the brand has shared key details about the series’ advanced display technology during a recent technical meeting.
Redmi K80 series display details
In collaboration with Zhongshan University’s Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center and TCL Huaxing, Redmi hosted a technical discussion in China to explore the innovative display features of the upcoming K80 series.
At the event, Thomas Wang, General Manager of Redmi, revealed that the Redmi K80 series will be equipped with TCL Huaxing’s 2K M9 flat display. It will be the only smartphone in the industry to support full-brightness DC dimming on a 2K screen.
To further enhance eye comfort, the Redmi K80 series integrates circular polarizing technology, improving visibility and reducing glare. The devices have also achieved TÜV Rheinland’s flicker-free eye protection certification.
Additional display features include ADV-MEMC image quality enhancement and AON Smart Eye Care, which provide real-time monitoring of visual health. Redmi has also confirmed that the phones will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for improved security and convenience.
