What is Reliance Jio Glass?

Jio Glass is a pair of smart wearables created by Tesseract, an Indian deep-tech startup that was later purchased by RIL in 2019. The augmented reality smart glasses may be used to screencast material onto a 100-inch virtual screen by connecting them via a USB Type-C cable to a laptop, gaming console, smartphone, or other device. 1080p content is available for viewing on Jio Glass.

In terms of style, the Jio Glass is lightweight (only 69 grams) and has a sleek appearance, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time when consuming content.

How does Jio Glass from Reliance works?

To view material from a smartphone, PlayStation, or laptop on a virtual screen or on a Jio Glass in 1080p, Jio Glass comes with a detachable USB Type-C cable. Smartphones can function as virtual controllers when hooked into Jio Glass.

Trackpad controls on Jio Glass allow you to adjust the screen’s brightness and volume levels. The Jio Glass has two stereo speakers, which provide microphone and spatial audio. Prescription lenses can also be used with Reliance’s AR glasses. There are inserts in the device to hold the glasses.

Changing from AR to VR

Jio Glass allows users to experience content in augmented reality and has a detachable flap. You can use VR content when the flap is on. When the real environment and computer-generated content are mixed, augmented reality (AR) is the result. An augmented reality experience will provide a cartoon character’s digital avatar. This will be superimposed in real time and within the user’s environment.

However, when watching content in virtual reality, people get the impression that they are fully involved in their environment.

Through Jio Glass, customers can participate in virtual meetings where other participants’ 2D or 3D avatars would be displayed. Up to three virtual screens can be integrated into a user’s workflow with the help of Jio Glass.

By connecting a game console and PC, customers can also engage in gaming. Customers will get access to educational apps on JioImmerse that cover subjects like science, math, English, and more.

Shop JioImmerse XR

The JioImmerse XR Store, which will provide India’s largest collection of 3D apps and entertainment, has also been unveiled by the firm. The JioVerse and XR (Extended Reality) apps offer VR-enabled learning and gaming applications, movies and TV series from JioCinema, and more.
