Samsung confirms seamless update feature for Galaxy S25 lineup
It’s been officially confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series supports the seamless update feature. The feature was developed by Google and it allows your smartphone to install software updating the background while the phone remains functional.
Technically, these are also known as A/B system updates. The update is applied to the inactive partition, B, while the user continues using the phone on the active partition, A. After the installation is finished, the device will restart for a few seconds to switch to the updated partition, B.
This is different from the traditional updating method, where your device is going to sleep (switch off) for quite a long time while it is being updated. The new feature ensures that the user doesn’t face a lot of downtime while the phone is updated. Almost all the latest Android smartphones have this feature, and it is indeed very useful.
