Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra series has long stood out as one of the few flagship smartphone lineups to offer stylus support, with the built-in S Pen being a key feature. However, a new report suggests that this iconic feature might soon be on its way out.
Samsung Might Drop the S Pen Slot in Future Galaxy S Ultra Models, Says Leak
According to a tipster known as Flash Panda Pro on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung is reportedly exploring the removal of the integrated S Pen slot in future Galaxy S Ultra smartphones. The reason behind this move is believed to be space optimization, which would allow the company to increase battery capacity—an area that has remained capped at 5,000mAh in recent Ultra models.
The tipster further clarified in a follow-up post that Samsung hasn’t made a final decision yet. The upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to launch next year, is still tipped to include both the S Pen and the dedicated slot.
If this change does go through, the first Galaxy Ultra model to ship without an S Pen slot could be the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which may debut in early 2027.
