Qualcomm is apparently working on the successor of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Though we are still quite a few months away from the official debut of the chipset, we’ve started hearing about the leaks and rumours. A latest report sheds light on the CPU performance insights of the upcoming chipset.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 to have 30% CPU performance boost over its predecessor
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some insights about the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, or to say, the successor of existing Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile chipset.
As per the information, the Qualcomm will include 16MB GPU cache on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, up from the current 12MB on the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Just because of the addition of 4MB of extra cache, there was around 30% increase in terms of performance.
For the CPU, the second generation of the flagship chipset will have a custom Oryon core that will deliver upto 25% boost in performance. It will have a similar 2+6 configuration with two prime cores and six performance cores. That’s all we know regarding the upcoming chipset.
