Tata Group had taken over the Indian operation of Wistron, Apple’s iPhone manufacturing firm, last year. Now, the group has acquired a massive 60-percent stake in another iPhone manufacturing company, Pegatron.

Tata Group completes its 60-percent acquisition in Pegatron India

Pegatron is among the major key suppliers of Apple. And now, in a very strategic move, Tata Group, the country’s one of the most known and trusted conglomerates has acquired a 60-percent stake in Pegatron.

As a result of this acquisition, Pegatron will soon undergo a complete rebranding. The new branding will reflect the updated ownership structure and both the companies will integrate their teams to work together.

The Pegatron’s iPhone manufacturing unit is located near the Chennai. Tata is also planning to open a new iPhone manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The upcoming plan will reportedly be the largest iPhone factory in India.
