The Tata group will begin producing iPhones in India for both domestic and international markets, according to an announcement made today by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Information Technology following the Tata Group’s acquisition of Wistron’s Indian operations. According to the minister, this is clear evidence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s revolutionary plan for the country’s electronics manufacturing industry.
Chandrasekhar praised the initiatives taken to establish internationally renowned Indian electronics manufacturing businesses. According to him, the government’s visionary plan is made to serve both domestic and foreign consumers and advance India’s rise to prominence as a reliable worldwide leader in the electronics manufacturing sector.
Chandrasekhar commended PM Modi for his innovative Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) program, which has already propelled India into the elite ranks of reputable and significant hubs for the production and export of smartphones.
