WhatsApp is rolling out very useful features day by day and now WhatsApp is making it easy to transfer your WhatsApp chats from one device to another. Now WhatsApp has introduced the transfer of your chats from one device to another device without cloud backup.

Previously, If you want to transfer your WhatsApp chats from one device to another device on android you have to take a backup on Google drive and on iPhones you have to take a backup on iCloud then logged in with same number on a new device then you are able restore the backup.

How to use the WhatsApp Chats transfer feature

  • First you need your current device or another device on which you want to transfer the WhatsApp chat history at the same place
  • But you also have to download WhatsApp on a new device and register with the same phone number
  • Open WhatsApp on your Old device go in Settings > Chats > Chat transfer
  • Then you will get the QR code on Old device and scan it from the new device
  • Once you scan the QR Code you will get a prompt saying your old phone wants to share something via Wi-Fi Direct
  • You have 27 seconds to accept the request
  • Once you agree, all the WhatsApp chat history will start transferring from Old to New device

But for now this WhatsApp chats Transfer features only available in android to android devices and iOS to iOS device. Which means you can’t transfer the WhatsApp chat history from android to iOS or iOS to android yet. But still this feature is quite helpful to transfer the WhatsApp chat history on the same OS platform devices.
