WhatsApp now let you send voice messages that will only play once

WhatsApp has now officially launched the function that allows users to send voice messages that vanish. The feature was previously being tested in beta. This is a portion of the ‘View Once’ feature, which was launched in 2021 and allows you to share movies and images that are only viewable once. Sending voice messages that can only be heard once is now possible.

WhatsApp disappearing voice messages

View Once voice messages have begun to roll out internationally on WhatsApp, and in the next few days, all users should be able to access them. Voice messages will also have the “one-time” icon and be limited to one playback, much as View Once images and movies.

How to send disappearing voice messages

  • It works the same way as sending videos and pictures that vanish. To record a voice message, simply open a WhatsApp chat and tap the microphone button.
  • After you’ve finished recording, press the “1” icon that appears above the “Send” button. Your voicemail will now be sent as a view-once message.
  • It is only available for the receiver to open and listen to once. Once the voice message is opened, it vanishes from the chat window. However, the chat will still show that a View Once voice message was sent.

For additional privacy, this feature is only available on mobile devices as WhatsApp’s desktop applications do not allow you to view images and desktop.

With its beta versions for iOS and Android, WhatsApp has been testing this capability. A limited group of beta testers who had the opportunity to test this feature prior to its official release can access it. It may take some time until the functionality is available to everyone because the distribution is still in its early stages. You can still verify by carrying out the previously indicated procedures.

While it appears that this feature is secure and private, keep in mind that Android devices have a built-in screen recorder that can be used to capture View Once voice communications. Thus, it is advised to continue exercising caution when using this feature.
