Xiaomi 16 to get floating telephoto, up from periscope lens
As per a report published by GSMChina, citing internal sources, the Xiaomi 16 testing units are making use of an upright floating telephoto lens, which would be similar to its predecessor. This report contradicts the past rumours, which suggest that the upcoming device will use a periscope telephoto lens.
The publication also adds that since this change was spotted in the testing unit, it would be hard to draw a conclusion that the final unit will also use a floating telephoto lens. Further, the report says that all the devices in the lineup, be it Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro or he Xiaomi 16 Ultra, will make use of a flat display instead of a micro-quad curved panel
The Xiaomi 16 will get a 6.36-inch screen with a 19:5.9 aspect ratio. The devices are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. But let us wait a few more months to get some more official and unofficial information on the same.
