Kevin Feige at ComicCon International: San Diego 2022, revealed some of the upcoming Marvel shows and movies that we can expect in phase five and Phase Six. With so many surprise entries there is a lot to expect from upcoming Marvel shows and movies. With writers’ strike along with some issues with the actor, the release date.

Marvel Upcoming Shows And Movies: A Phase-by-Phase Look at the Evolving MCU

Marvel Studios groups its movies and Disney + shows into Phases, like chapters in a big story. Each Phase has its own storyline, with new characters, big events, and movies that connect to each other. They all build up to a major conclusion, often involving the Avengers.

We are currently in phase 5 of the marvel cinematic universe.The films from Phase One, Phase Two, and Phase Three are collectively known as “The Infinity Saga”. The fourth ,fifth and sixth phases are collectively known as “the multiverse saga”.

What we know: Captain America: Brave New World is a new movie following Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) as Captain America. What we know: With Sebastian returning to play the role of Bucky barnes. The upcoming movie “Thunderbolts” is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It features a team of antiheroes unlike traditional superheroes who  work for the government on missions. This film is planned to be the final one in Phase Five of the MCU and is set for release in May 2025.

Expect new characters, including a potential villain played by Aubrey Plaza, and a surprising twist: the show might incorporate musical elements.

Eyes of Wakanda

What we know: This new Disney + animated series follows Wakandan warriors on a historical journey. Who traveled throughout the world to retrieve dangerous artifacts made from vibranium, a precious metal from Wakanda.The series comes from Marvel Studios Animation and was created in partnership with Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media. It’s directed by Todd Harris, a former storyboard artist at Marvel Studios, and is expected to premiere on Disney + sometime in 2024.

Your Friendly Neighborhood SpiderMan

What we know: This new animated Spider-Man show will be an origin story of spiderman, separate from the movies. With marvels what if style animation along with classic comic book vibes, new characters (including a Wakandan exchange student!), and familiar villains like Doc Ock. Daredevil and Doctor Strange might also show up. The show isn’t connected to the Tom Holland movies but exists in its own universe, possibly the multiverse. There’s already a second season planned!

Daredevil: Born Again

What we know: Finally, Charlie Cox as Daredevil with Vincent D’Onofrio as the villainous Kingpin. Several actors from the original Netflix Daredevil series are also making a comeback, including Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson). Jon Bernthal even joins the fray, reprising his role as the Punisher.  This project marks Daredevil’s official return to the MCU after his appearances in other Marvel projects like Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Ironheart

What we know: The story picks up after the events of the Wakanda Forever movie. Riri Williams, a character introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” who builds her own Iron Man-like suit. The series is expected to premiere on Disney in 2025 with six episodes.

The Fantastic Four

What we know: With Disney acquiring the rights of The Fantastic Four, they are finally coming to the marvel cinematic universe. Same year at San Diego Comic-Con a new movie  was announced. In September 2023, Matt Shakman was confirmed as the new director. This movie most likely won’t be an origin story,

The cast has been revealed to include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Fantastic Four themselves. They’ll face off against some powerful villains, including Galactus and the Silver Surfer (played by Julia Garner). The movie is scheduled for release in July 2025 as part of Phase Six of the MCU.

Blade

What we know: A new Blade movie is coming to the MCU! They’ve been working on it since 2013 and Mahershala Ali is set to star as the vampire hunter.

There have been a lot of changes behind the scenes, with several writers and directors attached to the project at different times. Currently, Yann Demange is directing and Michael Green is writing the script.

Filming is expected to start later this year in various locations around the world. The movie is scheduled for release in November 2025.

Avengers 5

What we know: This movie was supposed to be one of the two avengers movies for phase 6 that leads to another avenger movie just like how avengers:infinity wars lead to avengers:endgame. It was named as avengers the kang dynasty as the name suggests it was supposed to involve Jonathan majors’ Kang the Conqueror. In late 2023 marvel parted ways with Majors hours after the actor’s conviction in december for misdemeanor assault and harassment.

It’s still unclear whether Marvel plans to recast kang or completely remove it from MCU. Some leaks suggest it will be released as Avengers Secret War first part as it might be released in two parts.

Avengers: Secret Wars

What we know: This movie will be the big finale for phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU),wrapping up The Multiverse Saga. The title of this movie is similar to one of two classic Marvel Comics stories titled “secret wars”. One classic comic was over how heroes and villains got transported to battleworld so the Beyonder can watch them fight

Second one was how some heroes remembered how their world was before various incursions collapsed it and plotted against Doctor Doom, the unquestioned  master of realities.

What we know: This series will be focused on “White Vision”, a recreated version of vision without his emotions. This series most likely continues after the events of WandaVision. What we know: A movie called Armor Wars is coming out. War Machine (played by Don Cheadle) will face a big problem when Tony Stark’s (Iron Man) worst nightmare comes true that his  technology gets in the wrong hands. The movie will be based on a comic book story and is set after the events of another movie, Secret Invasion.

Untitled SpiderMan: No Way Home Sequel

What we know: A fourth Spider-Man movie set within the MCU was planned alongside No Way Home (2021). In November 2021, Sony and Marvel confirmed a minimum of three more films with Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Development was underway in December 2021, with writers attached by February 2023. However, work was put on hold due to the Writers Guild strike in May 2023. As of May 2024, the movie is still in early development with filming expected to begin later this year in the UK. We can expect Venom’s entry in this movie.

Untitled ShangChi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Sequel

What we know: In December 2021, a sequel to ShangChi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) was announced to be in development, with Destin Daniel Cretton returning to write and direct. Simu liu was expected to return as Shang chi by the following month. Filming is expected to begin in 2025.

What we know: At San Diago comic-con in July 2019, kevin fiege stated that mutants would eventually be introduced to the MCU, which include X-men, and said those terms are interchangeable and that the MCU depiction would differ from 20th century Fox X-men. By September 2023, Marvel Studios was preparing to meet with writers for an X-Men film later that year, and Michael Lesslie entered negotiations to write the film in May 2024.

What we know: As the name of this animated series suggests,A Zombie apocalypse that causes most of the Avengers into super-powered , flesh-craving undead. It will be based on the 2005-2006 comic book mini-series written by the creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman. The animation style will be similar to “What If…”.

Wonder Man

What we know: News about this series broke out in July 2022  ,that the project is indeed a Disney + show on Wonder Man. In comics Simon Williams is the son of a captain of industry whose business buckles under pressure from Stark Industries. So Simon turns to Baron Zemo who makes him into a superhero known as Wonder Man. he being started as a villain goes into a change of heart and joins Avengers rank.  But there is a catch: mcu’s Baron Zemo is known for his intense hatred against superheroes so there is a possibility that they might change origins.

What we know: Writer of “Moon Knight” Sabir Pirzada is working on a project based on Nova. According to comics, Nova is an intergalactic superhero tied to the Nova Corps. But in 2018’s “Avengers:infinity wars” Thanos had already devastated nova prime in order to secure one of the infinity stones.

What we know: After season 2 launched in the 2023 Christmas holiday, Marvel announced season 3 was already in production and released a clip from an episode involving Red Guardian, Winter Soldier, and Bill Foster. We don’t know much about more characters but Jeffrey Wright’s The Watcher is sure to return. Marvel’s What If is an animated series that deals in the multiverse and alternate storylines. It shows viewers how the story would have been if a character had made another choice.
