Spotify is one of the popular streaming platforms out there that offers ad-music as part of its premium subscriptions. In recent reports, users claimed that the company could add advertisements in Spotify premium once they launch the Hi-Fi tier later this year. But now the company has confirmed that users with premium subscriptions may not get ads anymore. Here’s everything you need to know.

Spotify Premium users may not get ads

Spotify has now finally confirmed that they are providing real time ad-free music to the users who purchased the premium subscription on Spotify. They have confirmed the statement on X (formerly Twitter). They have written rumours claiming that Spotify is putting ads into premium music listening. But that’s false. The company claimed that they are giving ad-free music listening experience to the premium users.

Spotify has also replied to questions from Premium subscribers on X, clarifying whether ads will be added to the paid service in the near future. The company claimed that the rumour is false, premium music listening is ad-free. Interestingly, these rumours surfaced after a bug earlier this year in February, which caused ads to appear for all Spotify Premium users on Android, iOS, and the web. At that time, Spotify confirmed the issue and said its team was working to resolve it.

Last month, the company had shared a post on its community forums asking affected Premium users to log out and log back into the app two or three times in a row. This was supposed to help resync their account and fix the issue.
