Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 officially announced: specifications & features




  • The next generation of audio device processors, the Snapdragon S7 and S7 Pro chipsets, support a wide range of AI capabilities.
  • Additionally, the S7 Pro Gen 1 chipset has a micro-power Wi-Fi capability that enables wireless 24-bit 192kHz lossless music streaming.
  • For multi-device connection, Qualcomm also introduced Snapdragon Seamless technology.

Qualcomm announced its new snapdragon Chip for different devices including Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon X elite for laptops and Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 for audio devices.

Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 details

As it refocuses on audio devices, Qualcomm has unveiled a new line of chipsets. Speakers, headphones, and earbuds are intended to be used with the new Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 chipsets. In order to significantly expand its capabilities beyond what Bluetooth can offer, the S7 Pro also has micropower Wi-Fi. That’s all there is to it.

In comparison to their predecessors, these new chipsets are expected to provide 100 times higher AI performance. With support for up to 192kHz lossless music quality, the Snapdragon S7 Pro Gen 1 sound platform is the first to offer Qualcomm XPAN and micro-power Wi-Fi networking to extend range throughout the house, building, or campus.

Additionally, the chipsets have improved sound for gaming with spatial audio and responsive 4th generation ANC. Up to 29 Mbps of data is supported by the S7 Pro Gen 1 model. It offers up to 24-bit, 192kHz lossless music streaming via Wi-Fi thanks to Snapdragon Sound. Both chipsets have Bluetooth 5.4 with Bluetooth LE as well. The S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 have different battery life estimates: 10 hours of music streaming at 48kHz lossless audio and 96kHz lossless audio, respectively.

Additionally, Qualcomm launched Snapdragon Seamless, a cross-platform solution that makes it possible to bring numerous devices together seamlessly across different operating systems and share peripherals and data. It is already collaborating with companies like Microsoft, Android, Xiaomi, ASUS, Honor, Lenovo, and OPPO who may use this technology in their upcoming devices.

These cross-device encounters include the following:

  • Keyboards and mice are compatible with PCs, smartphones, and tablets.
  • It is possible to drag and drop windows and files between many kinds of devices.
  • Depending on the importance of an audio source, earbuds can switch intelligently.
  • Smartphone capabilities can be increased using XR (Extended Reality).
